Hi, Talking to Don P. in south lake and the south lake is open. He reports the Pickerel Lake/White section is “good” but there is a washout aprox 3.5 kms in on the Malachi trail. It is reported as being about a foot deep but passable. Water has been washing over a culvert. This info is current as of last Sunday. Overall conditions were reported as soft. We have had a total of 4 washouts before this current one which have been “repaired”, filled with sand.
Now the north lake; We still have a huge ice pack which is mobile and moving with the wind. Margins that are open can close suddenly at any given time Things are very dynamic and unsafe. The ice itself is quite solid in a lot of places. At this time, Meisner bay is open but Bradleys and Copelands are closed, but this can change with the wind. The pack extends from west shore to east shore and extends from about a 1/4 mile north of the narrows to a line extend from Bilowitchs’s across to Lori turners (Marsden Point). I hope the pictures tell the story. I will post if conditions get any more favorable.
