Effective 12:01 AM Thursday June 1 st NW ON has been declared a
RESTRICTED FIRE ZONE by The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. The
total rainfall in the Malachi Lake area since the middle of March until May
30 th has only been 66 mm ( 2.6 inches ). A TOTAL BAN ON BURNING is being
implemented and will be strictly enforced. The forest is dry, the
temperatures are higher than normal and thunderstorms are in the forecast.
Any smoke in the area will be reported to the Ministry of Natural Resources
and Forestry.
