Picnic report and new medical info

THANK YOUs and VERY IMPORTANT MEDICAL INFORMATION

After a two year absence the Malachi Picnic took place July 30th and I think all will agree it was a resounding success.

As you know an event such as this doesn’t take place without dozens of volunteers. However it was in jeopardy as the station dock was badly damaged making access to the station impossible. Don Gould -Dock Chair, mustered a crew of helpers and over the course of three weeks transformed the rubble into a beautiful structure. Thank you Don and the many volunteers for the hundreds and hundreds of volunteer hours put in.

Mark Kubanek-Picnic Chair also mustered a crew of over fifty, to make the event happen. Thanks to Mark and all the volunteers who set up the site, purchased supplies, cleaned, cooked, ran games, painted faces, ran auctions, ran the Winkler Meat fundraiser, cleaned again, hauled garbage to Kenora etc., etc., etc. They all proved how great the Malachi Community is. In addition, special thanks to Winkler Meats for donating wieners for many years and to Ryan McLachlan-Road Chair and Al Campbell for keeping the road in amazing condition allowing us to safely get to the lake .

VERY IMPORTANT MEDICAL INFORMATION:

There is a new helicopter landing site thanks to Perry and Traci Stephenson and numerous volunteers (that word again) who made it happen. The new site is at the North East corner of Malachi Lake and is now the PRIMARY helicopter landing site for the lake. Click for more details.

The medical emergency information has also been updated. Click to see.
