Nov. 6 supplemental

Took a trip to the landing around noon and found the channel on the east side of the big island in the south lake to be frozen over.  We went around the west side of the big island and made it to the landing.  NW wind has kept the landing open.  Met a camper just leaving who had broke through the east channel and described the ice as "thick".  We have pulled our dock and the boat is now tucked in up on the shore.  This is the earliest for us I do believe.
