Today with the fresh snow we could see where the ice is probably still iffy. Off the shore line by Rothnays water was seen in small strips and across the lake off Campbells point a strip of water can be seen. Chopped a hole for our electric ice auger and the ice off our dock is about 4 inches. This inspired the first walk on the ice with the drill. The route intended to go from our place towards Jeffs point and around to the landing. We got as far as Marg Fulthorpes at about a distance of 300 feet out from shore and was finding ice at 1.5 inches thick. Needless to say we aborted the walk. Supposed to be nice and cold for the rest of this week so we’ll probably check again in a few days. nice Clay
