This morning we awake to the frozen splendor of the north lake, shore to shore. Campbells point retirement home reports some open patches between the point and Dolpheides in about the middle and another between the point and Mariens. Just north of the narrows, a large area described as arcing from Ranson towards Hawryluks is also open. Observed from Campbells point and Steiners is an open patch on the East side of Memorial island described as about 500 feet long. Roy also mentioned coming out by train (in the daylight) that every lake he saw enroute was frozen.
