May 12th

Lots of change again today, open patches of water can be seen in the ice
pan and there is a margin showing on the east side. Report from
Virginia is she has 1.5-2 feet of water in the yard and along the shore
in Meisner bay behind the berm. Hip waders to move around their yard.
Waiting patiently for the alleged rain we are supposed to receive, 20-40
forecast. Here’s hoping the rain beats up the remaining ice. Bobby
reports, and as is obvious from his pictures, he was able to boat down
to the landing to take the pictures. He reports the S lake is still ice
covered from the point at Dave R.’s place south, so, if the wind shifts
to the S again the narrows could close.
