FYI: Hwy 596 is still being upgraded. As of Oct. 5, from Pickerel Lake Rd. to Hwy17 it is hard packed gravel, with areas of loose gravel. There is one lane in each direction and in a couple of spots there are trucks, heavy equipment, and road workers. Drive safe.
