New Rules for Baitfish and Leeches: Effective January 1, 2022, there are new requirements for anglers regarding the movement and personal harvest of baitfish and leeches in Ontario. It is illegal to bring baitfish or leeches, whether live or dead, into Ontario. If you are a Manitoba resident fishing in Ontario, you must have a receipt for any baitfish or leeches purchased in Ontario.
