Today the walk concentrated on the area out from our place and towards the station. Ranging out 800 ft. or so and checking in various areas we found 20% 4 inch holes with the rest reaching 4 1/2 inches. Heading N on a line that would extend from the web cam to the narrows, the results remained the same with an occasional hole leaning toward 5 inches on a rare occasion. A problem for those who want to go onshore at the station is the steep approach to land at the station from the lower freeze level. It looks like we could catch the ski tips trying to climb this area so caution will be needed to be exercised initially. Walking back to our dock along the route along the shore I would usually travel, we found deeper holes, 5-5 1/2 inches, but these had 1-1 1/2 inches of white frozen slush ice at the surface so the added depth doesn't add up to safe vehicle travel. It is a very ugly feeling if the front wheels fall through.
