I have gotten reports from my faithful minions and the take home message is be very afraid. Contrary to what we would expect the EDGES ARE NOT SAFE! As viewed from the narrows, the shore line has random open spots from Ransoms all the way to diving rock where there is open water extending across to Memorial Island then to the big island. The East edge into Copelands as we come North out of the narrows has open areas. South of the big island across the top of Copelands appears open, possibly virgin ice which formed overnight with no snow on it yet. There is still an open spot front of Huismans. Bradleys bay has closed somewhat, with an open area front of Hornsbys. The narrows report is courtesy of our south lake camper who came in overland. There has been no travel on the south lake yet.
