Dec.11th

The ice results are from yesterday Dec. 10th.  50 feet off shore at my
dock drilled and measured 3 inches of ice after digging through 5 inches
of snow and slush.  Took a walk towards Marsden point, towards the
“don’t ;block snowmobile path sign” which is about a  hundred
feet W of the point and drilled en route.  Found the ice to be 2 inches
consistently.  Going around the point and S to the first cottage N of
the big dock, again 2 inches 20 feet off shore.  By this time I caught
on and decided to head back.  Took a route back to my dock closer to the
W shore about 40 feet out from shore and found a spot that felt soft (my
foot went through) and was able to easily break around this area with
the little shovel.  Cut back over to the original path and aborted.
Jackfish bay is covered with 5 inches of slushy snow and is wet and
heavy walking.  Every hole drilled created a little water gusher from
the weight of the snow on the ice.
Bradleys bay reports reported 5 inches by their dock and as he walked
out the ice got thinner till about 100 feet out it was down to a depth
of 3 inches. Thus ended the exploration.
